Hey Guys, here's what i've been up to:

Posted on 4/09/2010 12:00:00 AM.

I'll start with Portland Dew Tour. Well this was set to be an interesting stop. About a week before i found out my dad was flying out to watch me ride in Portland. I was excited to see my dad as i've been away from home for a few months now. It was his first time in the US so needless to say he was stoked to be here. I rode qualifying for vert on friday and did pretty well ending up 2nd overall so i made it into the finals for saturday. Saturday came around and i also had to ride park qualifying. The park was a little different and hard to find lines

to link together for a whole minute run. I figured one out and sent it and see what i came up with. I got a decent score which easily put me in the top 10. My 2nd run came around and i was still placed pretty well but with park theres just no telling what could happen. So i went to do the same run as i did but add a few more tricks in the places i didnt manage to in my first run. About 10 seconds into the run i sent a superman seatgrab 360 over the box and didnt take off my hand. I was basically doing a 360 no foot can but i couldnt get back on the bike. I should have bailed but since it was my 2nd run i thought i could save it. Wrong move, i ended up crashing and knocking myself out cold, again! That was the 2nd time in a couple of weeks. The news i was about to hear next was even worse.

I got to medics and got checked out and i was healthy and uninjured. Unfortunately since i had knocked myself out twice in such a small amount of time, the medics deemed me unable to

ride the rest of the weekend! I was so bummed! I found out i had qualified for park and vert and couldnt ride either of them! And my dad being there made it no better. I probably scared the crap out of him again! What a lovely trip it was for him haha. Well that was it for me. I placed last in both finals which hurt my overall points a little but hopefully next stop will go better for me.

The next week i pretty much sat on the couch and chilled with my girlfriend the whole week. The medics told me to rest and i mean really rest. No riding, no physical activity, they even told me no video games or reading. I was like, what am i supposed to do all week?! They told me i should probably take about 4 weeks off riding before i think about competing again. But 1 week of doing nothing was a minimum. That was alright since i had an ASA Triples Megaramp event the next week. So i rested up and waitied to see how i felt to see if i would go to ASA.

I felt good by the end of the week and since i'd already bought my tickets i was set to fly off to Sacramento the next week. I was stoked to go to the ASA event, there alot of fun and this is the first year that i've competed in them. It was a one day event so i got to the hotel and got some food and got a good sleep for the next day. Practice started at 11 the next morning so i went and got some breakfast with Austin Coleman who i was roomed with before heading down to the event. The setup was two straight jumps and 10ft quarter at the end. I practiced for a couple of hours to get them dialled in, i was feeling pretty good. The comp started at 7pm so i chilled out, did a tv interview, some meet and greet with the VIP's then it was time to warm up again. It was a head to head format against riders that were already picked for us. I was against Luke Parslow first up. We got two runs each before the judges decision on who made it to the next round. We both did some good runs but i ended up moving on to the next round. A few others went before the next set of riders who had all won their first round were to compete against each other. I was up against Ryan Nyquist. We both threw down some solid runs, but in the end Nyquist moved through to the next round. For all the people who lost the first and second rounds, there was a "Battle Back" round. so i was then placed up against the second group of riders as i had made it through to the second round previously. I was up against James Foster. The difference in this Battle Back, was that the riders only got 1 run each. So it was all or nothing. James went first and put down a pretty solid run. I decided to change up my run a little with a no handed 7 on the first. I was 7'ing the first all day but when it came down to that run i pulled off balance and looped out on the 7. James made it through to win the Battle Back round which put him in the final 4. Nyquist, Foster, Pat Casey and Maddog were the 4. Pat Casey went against Nyquist and took the win. While Maddog against Foster also prevailed. The final between Casey and Maddog was interesting to say the least. They both rode amazing and many people were the judges when it came down to who won. Maddog took the win and that was that. I had heaps of fun and was stoked to walk away uninjured. Thats it for me until the next Dew Tour in SLC. Keep you guys posted on what happens.
